Non "Mom Jeans"

Several years ago, the television program Saturday Night Live presented a parody of old-fashioned, elastic-waist jeans that had historically been worn by women of a certain age. Dubbed “mom jeans” it was a riot; and it worked as a parody because today there are so many jean styles and silhouettes to choose from that the “mom jean” is a thing of the past.

Moms are women, after all, and the range of denim silhouettes and sizes means that there is at least one perfect pair for women at any age and any shape. Among the diverse offerings in stores for spring and summer of 2008 are wide-leg jeans with sophisticated embellishments, as well as cropped styles in a range of colors. Blurring the line between mom and non-mom-jeans are specialty pieces for mothers-to-be.
