Find Out Why A Quality Pair of
Denim Jeans is a Wise Investment
It should come as no surprise that the average American owns 7 pairs of jeans. According to the Cotton Incorporated Lifestyle Monitor™ survey, consumers love a classic pair of jeans because it will outlast any seasonal fashion trend. And with female consumers reporting that the oldest pair of jeans they still wear is almost 5 years old, that’s all the more reason to invest in a quality pair of denim jeans that will last. On average, the wear life of a pair of jeans is 2.6 years, so donning them just three times a week yields more than 360 wears out of each pair. “With the current recession, consumers are being selective about their wardrobe purchases,” says TK, Product Trend Analyst, Cotton Incorporated. “But they’re still purchasing denim due to its comfort, durability, and versatility. It’s a wardrobe staple because it can be dressed up or dressed down, and it’s also inexpensive to maintain, which is important to remember in these tough economic times.”
Denim jeans are also a wardrobe favorite because they are easy to care for, and can be laundered in the washing machine at a low cost, ranging between 7 and 34 cents per load. On the other hand, most skirts, dresses, and slacks require dry cleaning at an average of $7.00 per item. Not only is denim one of the most inexpensive items to clean, but it’s also one of the most reasonably priced items to purchase, with the average pair of jeans selling for less than $50.
