Q&A with Miranda
1.) If you had to describe your style in three words, what would they be?
Comfortable, funky, my own.
2.) What's one of your favorite outfits to wear right now?
Jeans, T-shirt and a great pair of cowboy boots.
3.) Do you have a favorite designer?
I wore a fantastic dress from Jenny Packham on a red carpet once. BCBG has great, girly party dresses. And on my last album cover, I wore a beautiful olive velvet coat by Carmen Marc Valvo.
4.) If we peeked in your closet, what would we find takes up the most room?
Boots are my favorite thing. I easily have 20 pairs. Whether they are cowboy or high-heeled boots, I just love ’em. I wear the crap out of my boots!
5.) Where do you find style inspiration?
I find it everywhere. I love getting inspired by a look and then making it my own.
6.) If you could only have one album to listen to for the rest of your life, what would it be?
Hands down, Merle Haggard. Anything from his boxed set.
7.) Whose voice do you most admire?
I would say Beyonce. I think her voice, well, everything about her, is amazing.
8.) If you went back in time, what band would you want to join and why?
The Band. They are the coolest band of all time and I love that they just call themselves The Band. I hear a lot of the influence they had on me in my new record that comes out in fall this year.
9.) What advice do you have for young women with dreams of performing?
You have to find out who you are as an artist and as a person. There is no rulebook in this business. Go with your gut. That is the most important thing.
10.) When you're in need of inspiration for a song, where do you find it?
Either from my own life or something I see someone else going through. I write a lot about love or love gone wrong because I think it’s common ground for all people.
